This piece is sketched out with pencil and water color for the background. This is more of a symbolic piece that portrays a nailed tree trunk that seems to be out of place in the piece. The trunk represents the destruction and torturing of trees being used as a medium for building houses. The duplicity of tree’s portrayal as a column and its usage as a façade of the building represent the metaphoric representation of my inner-self obstructed from freely expressing my thoughts due to very rigid social structure existing in Korean society.
